Tim Credeur Vs. Tom Lawlor ufc stream
UFC 109 will pit two of the oldest fighters in MMA on Super Bowl Eve Saturday as Randy "The Natural" Couture will take on fellow UFC and Pride legend Mark Coleman. Also fighting on the card will be Nate Marquardt versus Chael Sonnen and Demian Maia taking on Dan Miller both in middleweight tilts. UFC veterans Frank Trigg and Matt Serra will fight in a welterweight fight, that will most likely be the first televised fight on the pay-per-view fight card.
Randy Couture -400 versus Mark Coleman +300.
When this fight was first announced by UFC President Dana White, it raised eyebrows. Randy "The Natural" Couture and Mark "The Hammer" Coleman, the two oldest UFC fighters, have never met in the UFC octagon, despite having a fight scheduled years ago. The two were scheduled to fight in 1997 when the fight was canceled due to an injury to Randy Couture.
Couture is coming off a win against Brandon Vera that went to a decision and Mark Coleman has not fight since he came back to the UFC and lost by TKO to Shogun Rua. In Coleman's ten year absence he fought in Pride. Coleman fought the best of Pride while he was there, losing to Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipović by knockout and also losing to Fedor Emelianenko by submission. Coleman has a puncher's chance against Couture but Couture won't let him have a chance to hurt him. Couture at -400 can't be bet but don't waste your money betting on Coleman.
Nate Marquardt -400 versus Chael Sonnen +300.
Nate "The Great" Marquardt will take on Chael Sonnen, a fighter Marquardt isn't looking past but has sounded extremely confident in his ability to defeat Sonnen. Marquardt should be the superior fighter when they are standing and when Sonnen tries to take the fight to the ground, Marquardt will still be the better of the two. Look for this fight to be over by the middle of the second round with Marquardt winning by submission or knockout. With Marquardt going off at -400 the fight can't be bet.
Demian Maia -340 versus Dan Miller +260.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu specialist Demian Maia is coming off a knockout loss to Nate Marquardt in late August and looking to get back on track against Dan Miller. Maia enters the contest with an 11-1 record and a huge chip on his shoulder looking to avenge his one round performance in UFC 102.
Dan Miller enters the fight with an 11-2 record and is coming off a loss to Chael Sonnen by a unanimous decision. While Maia is known for his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Miller is also a black belt in the discipline and will be just as comfortable on the ground. Possibly blinded by the plus money take Miller +260. Either way, this should be UFC Fight of the Night.
Matt Serra -150 versus Frank Trigg +110.
Frank Trigg didn't show much in his last fight and come to think of it neither did Matt Serra. Judging by the main event on this card and this fight, UFC President, Dana White decided he would throw out some names from the past to make the public feel better about shelling out big bucks to watch this event the night before the Super Bowl.
Serra's last win came back in April of 2007, you wouldn't know it by hearing him talk though. Granted, his last win did come against Georges St Pierre but St Pierre also avenged that loss in a dominating performance and Serra hasn't had his hand raised inside the octagon since.
Frank Trigg has lost three consecutive fights but all to the best in UFC. His most recent loss in UFC 103 was a TKO by Josh Koscheck, Trigg also lost to submission in his fights with Matt Hughes and St Pierre. Trigg could be on his last legs with a loss in this fight, same for Matt Serra. Never good betting chalk in the fight game but Serra -150 is the bet to make.
